Slow down AI.

The people building AI say it could end us. They’re building it anyway. Governments won’t step in until enough of us stand up.

This is the standing up. It takes two minutes.

What You Can Do

Pick one. Do it today.

You don’t need to be an expert, and you don’t need to quit your job. Movements are made of ordinary people doing small things, repeatedly, in public.

Get on the list.

One email address is the whole ask. We’ll tell you when there’s something worth doing, and point you to the people already doing it.

A few emails a month, only when there’s something to do. We don’t sell your address.

Sign the Superintelligence Statement: a call to prohibit the development of smarter-than-human AI until there is broad scientific consensus that it can be done safely, and strong public buy-in. Signed by Nobel laureates, AI pioneers, national security leaders, and tens of thousands of ordinary people.

02

Tell your representatives

10 minutes

So few people contact their representatives that offices count every call and email. Say you’re a constituent, you’re worried AI is moving too fast, and you want binding safety rules for the companies building frontier AI. That’s it. Polite and brief beats polished.

03

Join the movement

Ongoing

Find your people. Each of these groups will hand you real work to do, whatever your skills and schedule.

04

Spread the word

1 minute

Movements grow one conversation at a time. Send this page to three people who’d get it. Post about why you care. And if you make videos, make one about this: your voice reaches further than any ad.

Parents, workers, artists, people of faith, AI researchers — everyone gets here for a different reason. The ask is the same. Done one? Bring a friend.

The Problem

AI is developing too rapidly for humanity to stay in control.

AI could be the best thing that ever happens to humanity. It could also be the last. A handful of companies are locked in an arms race, building the most powerful technology in human history as fast as they possibly can, with no oversight, no democratic accountability, and, by their own admission, without fully understanding what they’re building.

The CEOs of OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Anthropic signed a statement that their technology poses a “risk of extinction” to humanity. Then they kept racing.
More than 1,000 AI lab employees signed an open letter asking governments to help make a slowdown possible. The people inside are worried too.
No company can stop on its own. Whoever slows down alone loses the race. That’s what governments are for. And governments move when the public demands it.

This situation is insane. And we all know it.

You Are Not The Odd One Out

Wanting this slower is the majority position.

People who want a slowdown usually think they are arguing against the public. They are the public, just without a mechanism. That is what this page is.

Question wording moves these numbers, and “slow down” means different things to different people. What survives every framing is the direction and the size of the gap.

Get Involved

A movement is forming.

Parents, workers, people of faith, artists, and AI researchers, arriving for different reasons and asking for the same thing. People are already pushing back in 47 states. Each pin is a real event.

Twenty minutes of reading puts you ahead of almost everyone, including most of the people covering it on the news.

AI should serve humanity,
not replace it.
